A thirty-seven year old man convicted of one count of attempted murder has been sentenced to six years imprisonment by the Lautoka High Court.
Voate Vutoniloma had attempted to kill Joseva Ratabua in Saunaka village, Nadi, twelve years ago.

The court heard that Vutoniloma deliberately bumped his vehicle against Ratabua with an intention to kill him.
The victim was stuck between the two tires of the vehicle and was dragged for some distance.
While sentencing the man, Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge says attempted murder is a serious offense and the incident had caused injuries to the victim who was bed ridden in hospital for four months.
