38-year-old former Marist Brothers High School student Petero Sovatabua was found dead in the Rewa River near Nadali on June 18.

His body was discovered covered in bruises with an open cut to his mouth. He is survived by his wife and four children.

Residents found his body drifting in the river and pulled it onto a bamboo raft, then waited for the police to arrive.

The police tied the raft to a boat and towed it to the Wainibokasi mortuary. Police investigations are ongoing.
