The Fiji Mine Workers Union has signed an agreement to compensate 368 miners with $10,000 each by August.
President Joseva Sadreu expressed gratitude for the agreement and thanked the Almighty, acknowledging the crucial role of faith in the miners’ perseverance.
Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Agni Deo Singh acknowledged the struggle and the loss of some of the 368 miners.
He stated that the coalition government took decisive action and that the next payment of $15,000 will be given next year.
Sadreu expressed gratitude to the Lord, management, and the current government for the agreement.
