Attorney General Graham Leung has been appointed without political party membership, which allows him to maintain greater independence and to speak with more candor and objectivity.
He sees his role as the Attorney General as a fundamental pillar of the rule of law in Fiji, ensuring that no one, including the elected government or any public official, is above the law.
Leung believes that, as the A-G, he should use his position wisely and respectfully and not prioritize political expediency or convenience over providing the best legal advice for the Cabinet and the Government.
