Residents of Vusuya, Nausori, are shocked by the discovery of a dismembered body outside the victim’s residence. Naibuka Serulaqeti, 29, was a construction worker who left home for work on April 24 but did not return.
A week later, on May 1, a group of men found his dismembered body while heading to the farm. The Nausori Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the matter, with Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Crime Mesake Waqa stating that a thorough investigation will be conducted.
The discovery of the victim’s head among the dismembered body parts was described as something out of a movie. The distraught wife of the victim, Litea Serulaqeti, expressed her anguish over the horrific manner in which her husband’s body was found.
She reminisced about their last moments together and hoped that the police would find and arrest the person who did this to him. Mr. Serulaqeti is survived by his wife and four children, and his burial is scheduled for Saturday.
