The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is waiting for the police investigation into the Ferris wheel incident involving a 21-year-old woman, who died after falling from the ride in June last year, to be completed.

The Ministry identified and filed alleged breaches contributing to the accident by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996 and its associated regulations.
The Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services, and Transport also investigated the ride’s mechanical components and engineering aspects.
