A one-year-old boy died after being hit by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man in Naitonitoni, Navua.
The victim, who was with a parent and a sibling, left home unnoticed and walked onto the road where the vehicle hit him.
The driver rushed the child to the Navua Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing, and negligence will also be looked into.
Director of Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, reminds parents and guardians to be extra vigilant when supervising children, as accidents can occur within seconds.
