With its vigilant oversight, the Consumer Council of Fiji has identified persistent issues in some supermarkets, including expired products, substandard quality, rotten fruits and vegetables, and poor meat quality.

The council has conducted workshops with the retail sector to address these concerns.

The number of complaints has increased, and the council believes businesses must step up to maintain their customer base in the competitive supermarket sector.
