In both accidents, the drivers lost control of their vehicles while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, Director of Traffic, stated that the police have not yet identified the two men who died in the Nadi accident.

The deceased were related to the driver, who was released from Nadi Hospital and is in custody at the Namaka Police Station.

In Tavua, the 21-year-old man was driving along King’s Road near Draunivi when the accident occurred. He was rushed to Tavua Hospital but passed away the same afternoon.

The four people traveling with the victim were treated and sent home. It is alleged that speeding was the cause of the accident.
