Three fatal road accidents have occurred in Fiji in the past week, resulting in the deaths of two men and one child.
In Kinoya, a 30-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and struck three pedestrians. The victims were initially taken to Valelevu Health Centre but were later transferred to Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
Tragically, a 41-year-old man passed away in the Intensive Care Unit, while a 14-year-old boy is in stable condition. A 13-year-old was treated and discharged. In a separate incident in the Northern Division, a 5-year-old child was struck by a vehicle and died at Labasa Hospital.
In Lautoka, a 59-year-old’s vehicle collided with a 34-year-old woman’s car in Teidamu. The current road death toll in Fiji is 24, which is a decrease from the 45 deaths at the same time last year. Investigations are ongoing for all three cases.
