Former Labasa soccer goalkeeper scores 4 tries for Queensland Country in NRC

Updated: 6:48am – Former Warden 7s player and Labasa soccer team goal keeper Filipo Daugunu scored four tries for Queensland Country as they beat Greater Sydney Rams 57‑31 in Sydney.

The Fiji-born wing is now the leading try scorer in the NRC with 10 tries so far this season.

22-year-old Daugunu and Rams wing Taqele Naiyaravoro got a yellow each in the match.

Queensland Country lead the NRC points table with 24 points, second is Canberra Vikings with 20 points and third is the Fiji Airways Drua with also 20 points due to points difference.

NSW Country have also kept their slim NRC finals hopes alive, with a hard‑fought 15‑10 win over Perth Spirit.

The Drua face Queensland Country at 2pm Friday.
