A former political figure has been found guilty of historical sex offences, including indecent assault, involving two victims from the 1990s.
The man was found guilty on all eight charges. His name was suppressed for 14 days, which allowed the defence to decide if further suppression was necessary.
The prosecution alleged that the man took advantage of his role as a mentor.
The boys were provided with alcohol and subjected to abuse while they were intoxicated and vulnerable.
The defence argued that the events did not occur and the complainants’ accounts were untruthful. Sentencing is scheduled for a later date.
