The former political figure in his 50s is on trial in Auckland for historical sexual abuse in the 1990s.
He is accused of indecently assaulting two males, one underage, in West Auckland and Waikato between 1995 and 1999.
The accused has pleaded not guilty to nine charges, including three for males aged 12-16 and six for males over 16.
The trial is set for the next five days in the Auckland District Court.
Rebekah Thompson is acting for the Crown, and the accused is represented by defence lawyer Ian Brookie.
