The Vodafone National Football head coach Christophe Gamel said most of the teams they have played are showing their interest to play again.

“Every team we play, they want to play back because we give them trouble, make things difficult for them knowing they are better ranked than us. Gamel said.

The Frenchman said they are working on a plan to invite overseas teams to play in Fiji.

“The results are not always positive unfortunately, but we are discussing at Fiji FA for some big matches in June.

“We are trying to invite overseas teams to Fiji for a tournament and it will be a super if we manage to get things done.”

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf backed Gamel’s words and said they are in the preparatory phase to organize something big.

“We are intending to bring one team from Asia and two from the region to make it a four-team tournament either in Lautoka or Suva so that our national team can play three international matches within a span of eight days.

“While everyone will be enjoying the FIFA World Cup on TVs, the football fans can also enjoy international football at the same time locally.

“But we are still in the preparatory phase where we are writing letters to invite teams, so we will make a press release once everything is confirmed.”
