Updated: 8:00am – The increasing number of prisoners from Tailevu will be the topic of discussion during the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting this Thursday.
Tailevu Provincial Council Chairman, Rusiate Tudravu says the province has 170 prisoners which is the highest compared to prisoners from other provinces around the country.
Tudravu says developments in various districts in the province will also be discussed.
“We will also be discussing further on the future developments, there are also be invited guest who will come, prominent people, and businessmen, other entities just to come and advise the council on how we can do better from what we are currently doing.”
Tudravu says other major topics will include ways of reducing flooding in and around the province, the vacant chiefly titles and maintaining the province’s culture and traditions.
The two days meeting will be held in Nakelo and will be officially opened by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama followed by a Talanoa session.
