The man asked her to accompany him to town and assist him in doing a research for an assignment for his 16-year-old daughter.

While on their way to town the man dragged her into a cassava patch and raped her.

High court Judge Justice Sunil Sharma while sentencing the man said he deceived the victim.

Justice Sharma further said that rape not only destroys a woman’s soul but also shatters her self-respect and the hope to live a normal life.

The Judge also said the victim could not concentrate on her school work after the incident since she was psychologically affected.

The Judge said she also became suicidal and required counselling.
