Men face charges after gunpoint liquor shop robbery

Updated: 6:38am – Two men are facing charges of aggravated robbery after a Masterton liquor shop was robbed at gunpoint.

Police said two men, heavily disguised in hoods and masks, entered the Liquorland on the corner of Michael and Chapel streets about 3.30pm on Monday.

One pointed a pistol at a staff member while the other took the till, before they fled in a waiting car.

The car was located yesterday morning and a 19-year-old and 36-year-old were arrested.

They are set to appear in Masterton District Court today, charged with disqualified driving, methamphetamine possession, and having a taser, in addition to the robbery charges.
