A structural fire in Tavua, involving a 64-year-old bus driver’s house, has caused minor injuries and displacement of five people.
The fire destroyed a four-bedroom concrete house, which was slept in when it started.
The estimated cost of the damage is $160,000.
In Tuatua, Labasa, four people were displaced after their houses suffered over 90% damage.
In Nasova, Levuka, a house was destroyed, with an electrical fault possibly being the probable cause.
Initial investigations suggest the fire started in the kitchen.
