The National Fire Authority (NFA) urges restaurant and eatery owners to ensure their staff receive fire safety training.
The call comes after a small property fire in Suva, where the kitchen staff extinguished the fire.

NFA Chief Executive Puamau Sowane emphasizes the importance of fire safety training for high-risk businesses like restaurants.
Last year’s most prominent fire at the Jaduram Building in Labasa started in an eatery and damaged other businesses by $7 million.
The incident at Hilton Fiji Resort and Spa in Denarau, Nadi was also highlighted.
