Earlier morning today, a woman died after her car hit Batra’s Fashion Villa shop on Great South Road, in Papatoetoe, south Auckland.
Police were conducting a scene examination in order to determine the cause of the crash.

Batra’s Fashion Villa owner Karandeep Singh said the car crashed into his shop shortly before it was due to open for the day.
“This was going to be one of the busiest days for us because of Eid – if this had happened 10 or 15 minutes later there would have been staff and customers inside.
“So I’m relieved that our staff are OK.”
