The incident occurred on Fairview Avenue just before 8 pm on Sunday.

Acting Inspector Warwick Stainton said the vehicle was found suspended over a three-meter drop between a house and a retaining wall.

The driver was under the influence of alcohol, putting himself and others on the road at risk.

The incident caused extensive damage to the property, which could have been avoided if someone had called a taxi.

The man is due to appear in North Shore District Court on Thursday, charged with driving with excess breath alcohol and dangerous driving.
