A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 51-year-old man who was seriously injured and died on the side of a highway in Northland.
The investigation into the homicide began on August 1 and involved the discovery of a white 2024 double-cab Toyota Hilux believed to be connected to the incident.
Police are working to reconstruct the events leading up to the man’s death and are asking for assistance from anyone who was traveling on the highway between 7:45 am and 8:45 am, as well as motorists with dashcam footage.
The 50-year-old suspect is set to appear in Kaikohe District Court on Friday, facing charges of murder and failure to fulfill obligations related to a computer search.
