A man was found dead in a car outside a vape shop in Mount Wellington, New Zealand.
Police were called to investigate a gun incident outside a business. The man was found dead inside the vehicle, with broken glass and blood visible on the ground.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ash Matthews said that the police were in the early stages of working out the incident.
Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Ward councillor Josephine Bartley said the family is in shock and upset. The community has voiced concerns about safety, community facilities, and strong enforcement.
Bartley believes the police presence is needed to give the community a sense of safety.
She also raised concerns about the number of recent gun crimes in Auckland, stating that people with guns are just out there shooting people.
