A person has died after an incident at an ice skating rink in Canterbury, marking the second fatality in a month.
St. Johns attended an accident in Staveley and took one person in critical condition to Christchurch Hospital via helicopter.
The incident occurred during a private curling session at the Stavely Ice Skating Rink.
The death will be referred to the Coroner. This is the second ice fatality in Canterbury in a few weeks. Earlier on, a 13-year-old girl fell and hit her head while ice skating on a school outing on 30 July.
