A truck driver was seen angrily fleeing the scene after colliding with a parked car in east Auckland. The collision occurred on Gossamer Drive, Pakuranga Heights, Auckland, at around 9:25 p.m. on Thursday.

After the crash, the truck was overturned next to a car with its rear damaged. Police confirmed that one person left the scene before their arrival, and investigations are underway.

A local woman, who preferred not to be named, said the accident happened so quickly that people assumed the driver would stay at the scene or move out of the way.

However, when approached by onlookers, he started running down the hill and then down Larne Avenue at a rapid pace. Onlookers shared on social media that the truck driver fled the scene after the crash.

Debris from the collision scattered across the road, obstructing traffic. The police have been contacted for a statement.
