A bus carrying 15 passengers collided with powerlines on Chatto Creek-Springvale Road in Central Otago, causing one person to suffer moderate injuries.
Police responded to the incident at 9:40 a.m., and two ambulances were on the scene. Of the 15 patients, 14 were uninjured.
The injured person is being transported to Dunstan Hospital in Clyde.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s shift manager, Lynn Crosson, stated that there was no indication of anyone being trapped in the bus, but powerlines were down, and there was a traffic bottleneck.
