Michael John Topp, a Christchurch man, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his three-month-old daughter.
Topp was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and murdering the three-month-old, who died two days later after sustaining a severe head injury.
The verdict was announced by Justice Anne Hinton in the High Court at Christchurch.
The minimum non-parole period is 17 years.
