A security guard was injured in an attempted robbery in Mt Roskill, Auckland when a group of armed individuals attempted to enter the store.
The group, which the guard stopped, attempted to break through the door but was unsuccessful.
The guard was assaulted by staff who dropped a security grille to prevent the group from entering. The guard sustained minor injuries.
The offenders fled in a car that was found abandoned. Police are investigating the incident and seeking to identify the individuals involved.
