Fiji receives $86.6 million from the Australian government

The Australian government’s generous provision of $86.6 million to Fiji for Budget Support Funding is set to significantly enhance the country’s sustainable development in infrastructure, health, education, climate change, and services, bringing a wave of optimism for the future.

The funding, part of the Vuvale Partnership program, aims to enhance the partnership between the two governments and ensure the country’s fiscal priorities and strategy are met.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad expressed the importance of this support, stating that it will help Fiji navigate its economic and health crises.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji Ewen McDonald emphasized the importance of budget support in helping the government meet its fiscal priorities and strategy.

He also announced that Australia will increase its funding to Fiji by 40% in the next financial year. The partnership between Australia and Fiji is demonstrated by the company leading the infrastructure master plan for the CWM Hospital.
