John Hope Muchirahondo is currently on trial for over 30 sexual assault charges spanning 12 years.
Accused of sexual offences over a decade, he is set to stand trial in Christchurch for two months.
Muchirahondo has pleaded not guilty to 22 charges of sexual violation and nine of unlawful sexual connection.
The alleged assaults took place between 2009 and 2021, involving multiple women and locations in Christchurch and Auckland.
Jury members were informed that the trial would last at least eight weeks, possibly extending to 10 weeks.
The Crown plans to call on 108 witnesses, making the trial extensive.
