A homicide investigation is underway in Auckland following the death of a man found dead outside a business.
Emergency services were called to Penrose Road in Mt Wellington at 10.40 pm on Saturday night after reports of a gun being fired.
The man was found dead in a vehicle. Auckland City CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Ash Matthews said police are still looking for those believed to be responsible.
A post-mortem examination and formal identification of the victim will be carried out over the coming days.
The community is expected to see an increased police presence in the Mount Wellington area. A scene guard has been established and will remain in place while inquiries continue.
