Oranga Tamariki (OT) is aiding police in investigating a baby’s “unexplained” death in Canterbury.
The child died in North Canterbury on Monday morning. The death is being treated as unexplained, and police are working to determine the circumstances.
Oranga Tamariki’s deputy chief executive in charge of tamariki and whānau services confirmed that OT was notified of the death, which took place in Oxford.
A post-mortem examination was conducted on Tuesday.
