Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man died in Waikanae Beach, Kāpiti Coast, on Tuesday. Several police cars and an ambulance were sent to the residential Napier Grove address just after 4:20 pm. The incident, referred to as “grievous assault,” involved a man receiving serious injuries.
The man died at the scene despite receiving medical attention. A scene examination will be conducted in the coming days. A man known to the victim is assisting with inquiries. Police do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the public, and inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
