At least four bullet holes damaged the home’s exterior walls, with one bullet appearing to have smashed a window. This recent shooting follows a spate of similar crimes across Auckland, with at least one home being targeted each week in June.

Last week, a Māngere home was sprayed by gunfire, narrowly missing children who were sleeping in a room. Edward Ru, also known as Sweet & Irie, took to Facebook to share videos of the smashed front bedroom windows of his home on Plumley Cres.

On June 18, the shooting of a Weymouth home shocked and traumatized residents. The shooting in Roscommon Rd, close to Clendon McDonald’s, resulted in damage to multiple windows in the house and a car in the driveway.

It is understood that the shooters went to a family’s residence, fired multiple rounds of ammunition, and then fled. A small East Auckland cul-de-sac became a target twice in just one week, with two men aged 23 and 25 arrested for the shooting and facing firearms and drug charges.
