Police are appealing to the driver of a vehicle involved in a pedestrian collision in Wellington on Monday night to come forward. The victim is currently in critical condition at Wellington Hospital following the incident on Ghuznee St around 10:50 pm.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rachael Boyd mentioned that the driver might not have realized they had hit someone and that the vehicle may have been damaged.
Authorities are asking for information from anyone who was on Ghuznee St at that time, as well as dashcam and CCTV footage. This appeal comes after the Terrace Tunnel was closed that night, causing traffic to be diverted onto Ghuznee St.
If anyone has information or is the driver involved, they are encouraged to contact the police at 105.
