Police are currently investigating a sudden death at an address on Pilgrim Place in Te Kauwhata, Waikato.
Senior Sergeant Kristine Clarke mentioned that a scene examination and post-mortem are underway. This investigation is expected to increase police presence in the town.
Two police vehicles, detectives, and a forensics team attended the scene at Aparangi Retirement Village on Pilgrim Place.
Police caution tape cordoned off the area, and a mobility scooter was examined at the entrance.
John Cunningham, the Aparangi Village Trust board chair, confirmed the sudden death and stated that the police were involved in the investigation.
Aparangi Village has been providing care for over 50 years and expressed sadness at the sudden death.
