Three arrests have been made following two fleeing driver incidents in Auckland within 15 minutes yesterday.
The first incident involved a vehicle traveling excessively on State Highway 1 northbound toward the South Eastern Highway at 12:45 a.m.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued at high speed. The Eagle helicopter flew overhead and reported the dangerous driving.
The vehicle exited at Maioro St, stopped at an address, and the driver left. The man was allegedly aggressive towards staff.
The police deployed a taser and took him into custody.
A 33-year-old man appeared in Auckland District Court charged with failing to stop, dangerous driving, assaulting police, and resisting arrest.
The second incident involved a stolen vehicle traveling on State Highway 16 in Henderson around 1 p.m. Eagle was called in to assist.
The driver and passenger were arrested at Carwyn Pl, Ranui. A 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman also appeared in Waitakere District Court.
