A 15-year-old wheelchair-using teenager has been sentenced to over two years in prison for causing a fatal car crash in Christchurch.
Sandra Loveday was killed in the accident, while Ryan Eastwick, a 15-year-old, was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Eastwick appeared in a wheelchair during sentencing and cried during the proceedings.
Justice Rachel Dunningham awarded him discounts for his age, health issues, and remorse and sentenced him to two years and eight months in prison.
