Updated: 7:10am – Defending champions Team Nadi have been drawn in a tough pool in the Rams Group of Companies NZFFI Inter District Championship tournament which was drawn on Saturday at the NZFFI Head Office in Flat Bush, Auckland.
The Jetsetters are drawn with newcomers Avondale Nasinu, Lami and traditional powerhouse Ba in pool play. Last year’s runners up Rewa head Pool B along with Savusavu, Rakiraki and Taveuni. Pool C sees Vatukoula together with Navua, Labasa and Lautoka while the North Shore based Nasinu side head Pool D which also have Nadroga, Suva and Naitasiri.

The tournament is expected to attract a number of players from Fiji and Australia as teams will be importing players to strengthen their sides. Fans will also get to witness some renowned names featuring for teams in the tournament such as Zane Sole, Tim Myers, Soromon Suele, Brandon Barnes and many more household names among the football fraternity.
Some players from Fiji expected to lineup for respected teams in the tournament include Napolioni Qasevakatini, Vereti Dickson, Iosefo Verevou, Andrew Naicker, Epeli Saukuru, Shaneel Naidu and Valerio Nawatu.  The tournament will also serve as a selection for local players into the three All Stars Selection teams for the 2017 Pacific Cup.
The 16 team tournament will be played at Bill Mckinlay Park in Panmure from the 18th to 23rd of October.
