Update: 8:50am – A 10-year-old girl was hospitalised in the city of Agra after an unidentified man attempted to rape her. The accused tried to enter the house on the pretext of asking for some water to drink and after finding her alone in the house he took advantage of the moment to attempt to sexually assault her.
When the girl objected to his actions and tried to fight him off, the accused smashed her head with a heavy object. When the victim’s parents rushed home after hearing her screams they, too, were attack by the man before he fled.
The girl’s father said he went out for the hospital in the afternoon with my wife.
Soumya was alone at home. When they returned in the evening, the door was open and inside their daughter was struggling to fight off the accused.
“I tried to catch the man but attacked me and his wife and fled.
We dressed our daughter and brought her to the District Women’s Hospital where she was admitted,” he told.
The victim said I heard a knock on the door as soon as her parents left for hospital and when she checked a young man was standing in front of me.
The girl told that the accused asked for water saying it was too hot outside that day.
After which he asked the little girl to call her parents to which she answered they are not in, knowing which he took advantage of the situation and barged inside the house and began touching her inappropriately.
The man tried to strangle the little girl with a wire and then smashed her face with what she told was a rock as she struggled to break free from his clutches.
The police have registered a case against the man and the search is on to nab him.
