A person has died in a vehicle in Auckland’s Pakuranga Heights after armed police officers responded to a “critical incident.”
Police received several calls about a serious event from the Pakuranga and Marvon Downs Ave areas around 6:45 a.m. today.
A police spokesperson confirmed that one person was found injured in a vehicle at the intersection of Marvin Downs Ave and Pixie Pl.
Medical services attended to the injured person, but they died at the scene.
Police are working with witnesses and will have many police resources in the area today.
At least eight police cars were around a property on Marvon Downs Ave shortly after 7.30 am.
Elm Park School principal Sarah Baleicakau stated that the school was not in immediate danger and would remain open today.
MP for Pakuranga Simeon Brown expressed his “horrified” response to the shooting and urged anyone with information to contact the police.
