Second phase of Operation Cavuraka focusing on drug trade and enforcement – Police

Updated: 6:47am – 5,406 marijuana plants, 146 branches, 572 sachets, 416 parcels and two hard drugs have been seized by the Fiji Police Force in the first 3 weeks of Operation Cavuraka 2.

Acting Chief of Operations ACP Maretino Qiolevu says the second phase of Operation Cavuraka which commenced on the 1st of March is focusing on drug trade and enforcement.

He says that there has been a continuing increase in the seizure of drugs in the four divisions.

2,720 marijuana plants were seized in the Western Division, 418 plants in the Southern Division, 322 in the Eastern Division and 1,846 plants in the Northern Division.

Details on the hard drugs seized will be released later.

Police will also provide the number of people arrested after the raids.
