Seven teenagers aged 16-18 have robbed a McDonald’s restaurant in Auckland’s Mount Roskill, smashing most of its glass windows.
The group, armed with hammers and metal poles, entered the restaurant by smashing its windows.
They allegedly targeted cash before fleeing in the identical two vehicles they arrived in. Both vehicles were abandoned on Gifford Avenue and Donald Crescent.
CCTV footage showed another vehicle as linked. Police found the group at a property where seven people were quickly taken into custody.
No one was hurt in the incident, and the police will oppose bail for the seven offenders.
