Updated: 6:40am – Police are calling for sightings of five people after a robbery at a dairy north of Wellington.

Lower Hutt Police said three men, two in rubber masks, entered the Epuni Mini Market on Oxford Terrace at 6pm on New Year’s Eve and threatened staff before taking off with money from the till.

They said one man jumped the counter and removed the till draws while another continued to threaten the store attendant while money was being taken from the till.

After taking the money the alleged offenders have fled on foot from the store.

However police believe a fourth man was outside acting as a look out and a fifth person may have been a getaway driver.

Witnesses have described seeing the men run under the rail subway onto Cambridge Terrace and get into an awaiting white four door saloon vehicle. They were last seen travelling north on Cambridge Terrace.

Police said the victims are extremely traumatised.

They want anyone with information to contact the Hutt Valley Police on 5602600 or anonymously via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
