Updated: 5:56am – The trial of a step-father who allegedly raped his twelve-year-old daughter began in the Suva High Court yesterday.
The man is charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of rape.

It is alleged the incident occurred between February and December 2010.
The Prosecution opened the case by saying that being a father or a step-father comes with a lot of big responsibilities and they are in the position of trust.
The victim is giving evidence behind closed doors.
