WOWS Kids Fiji has reported that 16 children lost their lives to cancer between January and August this year.
Vice Chair Vilash Chand highlighted this at a morning tea fundraiser Value City Private Limited organized in Suva.
As of today, 77 children living with cancer are under the care of WOWSKids Fiji.
Chand emphasized the need for intensified awareness of childhood cancer, as many parents and guardians are unaware of the various types of cancer in children.
This often leads to a late presentation of children living with cancer, leading to death among children.
Chand highlighted the significance of fundraisers like Value City’s Morning Tea in raising awareness of cancer in children.
