Updated: 7:55am – Two people are dead after a shooting in the Whangarei suburb of Kamo.
Police said earlier that one person had been killed and another was critically injured.

They have since revealed that the victims, who were both men, were involved in a shooting. The men were known to each other, the police said.
The injured man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound but had since died from his injuries, they said.
Officers were still at a house in McMillan Avenue and cordons were in place, police said.
They said they were not seeking anyone else and there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Investigators will be at the house over the coming days.
