Two people have been injured after a car reversed through the back of a bus stop in the Auckland suburb of Pt Chevalier.

Emergency services attended the crash near Huia Rd, and motorists are advised to avoid a section of Great North Road, Pt Chevalier.

Early indications suggest one person has suffered moderate injuries, and another has received minor injuries.

Traffic is down to one lane, and motorists are advised to expect delays or seek an alternate route.

A nearby business staff member reported hearing an enormous crash, and a old man was also at the bus stop.

One ambulance, one rapid response vehicle, and one operation manager have responded and treated two patients.

One person is in a moderate condition, and another is in a minor condition.
