Two Auckland rail workers have been injured by powerlines, which have caused delays and the closure of Britomart station.
A maintenance vehicle collided with overhead powerlines between Newmarket and Britomart. Which caused one worker to be in critical condition and the other seriously injured.
The Onehunga line has been suspended, and most trains are running at a reduced 20-minute frequency, stopping at Newmarket.
Power has been isolated in a section of the rail network for routine maintenance inspections.
The maintenance vehicle remains on the line, preventing power restoration between Newmarket and Britomart, including Britomart station.
WorkSafe is making initial inquiries.
