Varun Dhawan is set to star in a war drama, ‘Border 2’, alongside Sunny Deol.
The ensemble cast is yet to be announced, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Diljit Dosanjh also rumored to join. The official star cast is expected to be announced within a month.
Sriram Raghavan offered Varun the role of army officer Arun Khetrapal in ‘Baby John’,. Due to creative differences, he was recast as Agastya Nanda.
“Border 2” is the spiritual sequel to the 1997 classic. It was written by OP Dutta and directed by JP Dutta.
The movie was released on June 13, 1997, and it is considered one of the greatest war dramas in Indian cinema’s history.
For Anurag Singh, who also made “Kesari,” living up to the legacy of the original would be nothing less than daunting.
